Your First Scan

This guide walks you through your first point cloud capture with the Lixel L2 Pro.

Before You Start

Ensure you have:

  • ✓ Fully charged battery
  • ✓ LixelGO app installed and connected

  • ✓ Good lighting (helps colorization)

Step 1: Power On

  1. Insert a charged battery
  2. Press and hold the power button (3 seconds)
  3. Wait for the scanner to initialize (LED status indicators)
  4. Open LixelGO — connect via WiFi

Step 2: Configure Settings

In LixelGO, set your preferences:

SettingRecommended
Scan Mode1mm (default) or 5mm for speed
ColorEnabled
RTKIf using RTK module

Step 3: Start Scanning

  1. Position yourself at the start point
  2. Hold the device at hip/chest level
  3. Tap "Start" in LixelGO
  4. Walk naturally through the space

Scanning Technique

  • Walk speed: Normal walking pace (unlike PortalCam)
  • Path: Overlapping zigzag pattern
  • Height: Keep relatively level
  • Coverage: The app shows real-time point cloud

The L2 Pro is more tolerant of movement than camera-based scanners. Walk naturally, but smoothly.

Step 4: Monitor in Real-Time

LixelGO shows:

  • Real-time point cloud preview
  • Camera images
  • Battery status
  • Memory usage
  • RTK status (if applicable)

Step 5: Complete the Scan

When you've covered your area:

  1. Tap "Stop" in LixelGO
  2. The scan saves automatically
  3. Review the point cloud preview
  4. Transfer data for processing
