Getting Started with Splat Labs
This guide walks you through creating your first Splat Labs project.
New to Gaussian Splatting?
Read Getting Started with Gaussian Splatting or How to Create 3D Gaussian Splats before uploading your first file.
Step 1: Create a Free Account
- Go to cloud.rockrobotic.com
- Click "Create an account" or "Sign Up"
- When prompted, select "Gaussian Splat" as your account type
- Complete registration with your email and password
The Free plan includes 2 active projects with AI features β no credit card required.
Step 2: Upload Your First Splat
Once logged in:
- Click the "Upload" button (or drag and drop)
- Select your Gaussian Splat file
- Wait for processing (typically 2β5 minutes)
- Your project appears in your dashboard
Supported Formats

| PLY | .ply | Standard Gaussian Splat format, widely compatible |
| SPLAT | .splat | Native Gaussian Splat format |
| KSPLAT | .ksplat | Compressed format, faster loading |
| XGRIDS | .xgrids | XGRIDS native format with metadata |
Step 3: Explore Your Project
Once uploaded, you can:
- Navigate β Click and drag to look around, scroll to zoom
- Measure β Use the measurement tools for distances and areas
- Annotate β Pin notes, PDFs, and videos to specific locations
- Share β Copy the link to share with anyone
Step 4: Share With Anyone
Every project gets a shareable link:
- Click the "Share" button
- Copy the link
- Send to anyone β they can view without an account, on any device
Viewers don't need to install any app or create an account. The link works on any modern browser.
