AI Scene Redesign

Remove objects, redesign spaces, and insert 3D elements using AI Remove, AI Redesign, and AI Add

AI Scene Redesign

AI Scene Redesign gives you three complementary tools for transforming spaces inside a Gaussian Splat β€” all from a text prompt, all working directly from your real 3D scan data.

The Three Tools

AI Remove β€” Declutter and Strip a Space

Remove objects, furniture, inventory, and clutter from any viewpoint in your 3D scan with a text prompt. The result is a photorealistic AI-generated image of the same space with the specified items removed, revealing the clean architectural shell beneath.

Example prompt: "Remove all shelving, backpacks, and clothing racks."

Best for:

  • Commercial real estate β€” show a prospective tenant what a currently-occupied space looks like empty
  • Retail leasing β€” reveal the architectural shell of a storefront for a new tenant
  • Construction documentation β€” clear a cluttered space for clean as-built imagery

AI Redesign β€” Transform the Interior

Describe a new design direction and the AI reimagines the interior with new materials, surfaces, lighting, and furnishings β€” while preserving the exact architectural geometry of the real scan.

Example prompt: "Turn this entryway into an Arizona-themed modern reception area with desert plants and warm lighting."

What changes: Surface materials, wall and floor finishes, lighting, furniture, fixtures, color palette, and design language.

What stays the same: Room dimensions, ceiling height, column positions, door and window locations. The AI is constrained by the physical reality captured in the scan β€” it cannot make a 9-foot ceiling look like 12 feet or widen a hallway that the LiDAR measured.

Best for:

  • Leasing and tenant negotiations β€” show multiple buildout options from one scan
  • Architecture and interior design presentations β€” visualize concepts before drawings are produced
  • Client proposals β€” compelling, honest visualizations anchored to real spatial data

AI Add β€” Insert Objects and VFX

Insert 3D objects, effects, and elements into your scan at exact scale using a text prompt. Used for pre-visualization, VFX, and contextualizing how specific objects would look in a real space.

Best for:

  • VFX pre-visualization and location scouting
  • Inserting furniture or equipment to test fit before purchase
  • Creative and marketing projects requiring photorealistic compositing

How to Use AI Scene Redesign

  1. Upload your Gaussian Splat to Splat Labs Cloud and enable AI on the project
  2. Navigate to any viewpoint inside the 3D scan β€” the AI uses your current camera angle as input
  3. Open AI Scene Redesign from the viewer toolbar
  4. Select the tool (Remove, Redesign, or Add) and write your prompt
  5. Generate β€” the AI produces a photorealistic image of that exact viewpoint with your changes applied
  6. Save and share the generated image alongside the live 3D model

Using the Tools Together

The three tools work together in a natural sequence:

  1. Remove the existing contents to reveal the clean architectural shell
  2. Redesign the shell into a new interior concept (or multiple concepts for different prospects)
  3. Add specific objects, fixtures, or effects to complete the visualization

One scan can become an unlimited number of design variations, all anchored to the same real spatial data.
