Measurements

Splat Labs includes professional measurement tools built directly into the 3D viewer — no desktop software required. Measure distances, areas, and heights from any device.

Measurement Types

Distance Measurement

Measure point-to-point distances between any two locations:

1. Select the Distance tool from the toolbar
2. Click your first point
3. Click your second point
4. The distance appears on screen

Area Measurement

Calculate square footage and surface areas:

1. Select the Area tool
2. Click to place points around the perimeter
3. Close the shape by clicking the first point
4. Area is calculated automatically

Height Measurement

Measure vertical heights:

1. Select the Height tool
2. Click the bottom point
3. Click the top point
4. Vertical distance is displayed

Saving and Exporting Measurements

All measurements are automatically saved to your project:

1. Measurements appear in the Measurements panel
2. Click any measurement to highlight it in the 3D view
3. Export measurements as CSV or PDF

Units

Change measurement units in settings:

• Metric (meters, centimeters)
• Imperial (feet, inches)
• Mixed (feet and inches)

Calibration with AI Floor Plans

When using measurements alongside AI-generated floor plans, use the 3-point calibration system to apply accurate scale and orientation to the 2D floor plan. See AI Floor Plans for details.
