Orienting Your Scan: Translate, Rotate, Scale & Ground Plane

After upload, your splat may need to be oriented correctly in 3D space. Splat Labs provides tools to:

  • Translate β€” Move the scan's position in 3D space
  • Rotate β€” Adjust the orientation and heading
  • Scale β€” Resize the model if needed
  • Ground Plane β€” Set a level reference plane so the model appears right-side up

How to Access the Orientation Controls

  1. Open your project in the Splat Labs viewer
  2. Access the Transform panel in the toolbar
  3. Use the sliders or direct input fields to adjust Translate, Rotate, and Scale
  4. Use the Ground Plane tool to level the scan automatically or manually
